Bradley's Story

When Bradley was a month old, he was diagnosed with sagittal craniosynostosis. His mother, Laura, was told to contact the pediatric neurosurgery clinic at UHS. Once she and her son arrived at the clinic, they met Izabela Tarasiewicz, MD, and Erica Salazar, RN, MSN, FNB-BC. “We loved them immediately,” Laura told us. “They were so comforting and had answers to all of my questions.” Laura also praised the director of the cranial remolding clinic, Darren Poidevin, CPO, LPO. “We liked Darren. He was very comforting, calming, and knowledgeable.”

Laura would like to share this piece of advice for families who have a child undergoing craniosynostosis surgery:

“It's going to be difficult, one of the hardest days of your life, but you are with people who know what they are doing and you'll get through it.”
