This summer the Department of Neurosurgery was home to four second year medical students who expressed a keen interest in Neuroscience and Neurosurgery: Justin Garling, Paul Oler, Shushan Rana, and Clay Samples. This year, each student took on extremely difficult and time-consuming projects involving basic research in stroke or traumatic brain injury.

The students got a chance to share their hard work at the Tenth Annual Medical Student Research Day held October 4, 2010 in the Parman Auditorium foyer.   There were 80 participants this year, the largest number of students presenting ever.  The Distinguished Guest this year was our new Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. Francisco Gonzalez-Scarano.
