Department of Neurosurgery Hosts Alumni Reception in Philadelphia

The Department of Neurosurgery’s Chairman, Dr. David F.  Jimenez hosted an alumni reception in honor of Jim L. Story M.D.  The reception was held at the Philadelphia Marriott Hotel on May 3, 2010 in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.  Those in attendance included Dr. and Mrs. Jim L. Story from San Antonio Texas, Dr. and Mrs. Moustapha Abou-Samra from Ventura, California; Dr. Rick Boop from Memphis, Tennessee; Dr. Christopher Gegg from Orlando, Florida;  Dr. Glenn Harper from Santa Cruz, California; Dr. Bret Errington from Amarillo, Texas; and  Dr. Elizabeth Trinidad from Long Island.

Others attending from San Antonio include Dr. Holger Skerhut; Dr. David Garrett; Dr. Christopher Koebbe, UTHSCSA Neuroendovascular Surgeon; Dr. Mateo Ziu, UTHSCSA Neurosurgery Resident and Lisa Beebe,
UTHSCSA Neurosurgery Department Administrator.  

Dr. Jimenez would like to extend his gratitude to all of those who attended this special event.

Lisa Beebe Begins Second Term As President of NERVES

Lisa Beebe, NERVES PresidentLisa Beebe, Neurosurgery Department Administrator began her second term as President of NERVES - Neurosurgery Executives Resource Value and Education Society. Her second term began at the annual meeting held April 29 - May 1, 2010 in Philadelphia, PA.

NERVES is an organization of neurosurgery practice administrators from around the country. Lisa has served on the board since 2007. In her capacity as President, she also serves as the liaison to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, The Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies. She provides regular organizational updates, neurosurgery practice trends and socio-economic data  to the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies by presentation at biannual meetings.
