Abby Jack - Medical Miracle

The 2011 Medical Miracles Gala, hosted by University Health System, honored Abby Jack, a beautiful and healthy two year old girl, who at six months, suffered a devastating, life-threatening injury.  Dr. David Jimenez, who removed one-third of Abby’s skull to alleviate massive swelling, was recognized for the surgical care he provided in saving little Abby’s life.

The Distinguished Jim L. Story Visiting Professor Lecture Series Presents Arnold Menezes, M.D.

Dr. Arnold Menezes, Professor and Vice Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Iowa, visited our department on May 6, 2011, as the Jim L. Story, M.D. Distinguished Visiting Professor.  He gave an excellent talk entitled: The Emergence of the Pediatric Spine Neurosurgeon.  He spent the rest of the day with the residents and faculty sharing his vast experience in clinical neurosurgery. 

We thank him for his time and superb presentation.
