Our very own Dr. John R. Floyd II will be a leading collaborator on a study researching how to overcome drug resistance in deadly central nervous system tumors – glioblastomas. Last week the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) granted $755,718 to the Cancer Therapy & Research Center (CTRC) in collaboration with The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in order to conduct such study. With one-year survival rates for glioblastomas at 29.3% and five-year rates at 3.3% this study will be monumental in the path to finding a cure. See HSC News for the full article.
