Welcome to our web site. I am glad that you are considering our program and I hope that this site will give you the necessary information to make an educated decision about our residency program.

The Neurosurgery Residency program has recently undergone a major transformation. Our program was established in 1973 and has a long history in training qualified neurosurgeons during the past 30 years. The Residency Review Committee reviewed our program at the June 2007 meeting and gave us 5 year full accreditation until 2012. I believe that the RRC’s decision validates the Department’s efforts in achieving a robust and productive portfolio in our missions of education, research and patient care.

We now have a very active clinical and research program. You can view our surgical caseload and see the number and distribution of cases. You can also view our facilities and get a sense of working and living environment here in our beautiful and quaint city of San Antonio.
