Olga Garza’s Story

In 1987, Olga Garza was experiencing severe headaches. After dealing with the pain for three years, she went to the hospital and found out she had a tumor. Although doctors were able to excise most of it, the root could not be removed. In the early 2000s, she began to have serious headaches once again. Olga went to many doctors who told her that the pain was coming from her tumor. They gave her medication to manage her condition, but the debilitating pain persisted for years.

Roughly a year ago, Olga met with David F. Jimenez, MD, FACS, who explained that the pain was coming from her veins. He told her that Alexander M. Papanastassiou, MD, would be able to treat her. “After the surgery, I got my life back,” Olga told us. “The doctors at UT Health are amazing. They found the problem and treated me. Dr. Papanastassiou did the surgery and now I feel amazing.”

We are happy to report that Olga has been pain-free ever since.
