What is Neurocritical Care?
Neurocritical Care is a sub-specialty of critical care where providers are trained to care for patients with disease or injury to the brain and/or spinal cord and associated nerves.
Patients with neurologic disorders have special needs that require a careful, coordinated multi-system approach to care. Examples of conditions cared for in the NeuroICU include severe traumatic brain injury, stroke, seizure disorders, neuromuscular disease, and multi-system organ dysfunction.
The Neurocritical Care team is composed of different providers with specialized training all working together to provide comprehensive patient care.
