Personal Statement:

Gustavo Salinas was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Ever since he was a child, Gustavo wanted to become a doctor. However, as he grew older he developed additional interests in computation and technology. He moved to San Antonio when he was a teenager and started to pursue an associate degree in biology at Northwest Vista Community College. After he was accepted into the Bridges to Biomedicine program during his freshman year, Gustavo began to focus on neuroscience and neurosurgery. He plans to graduate with his bachelor’s degree in computer science and apply to a medical school program focused on general surgery or neurosurgery.
