Wilfred’s Story

Last October, Wilfred Staunch, suffered a stroke in his home that left him incapacitated. His family started to worry when he stopped answering their calls; they called the police to check on him. When the officers arrived, they found him unconscious and immediately took him to University Hospital where he was seen by Ramesh Grandhi, MD. Wilfred is still recovering, but he is making excellent progress. “They took a piece of my skull out to release pressure in my brain,” Wilfred said. “I had no idea what was going on at the time, but my family said there were people who didn’t think I was going to make it. But my wife knew that I was a fighter and I could fight my way through this and live and she was right.” Wilfred also told us that he was very impressed by the quality of care he received. “Dr. Grandhi was really good. He made me feel at ease. He completed the surgery and he kept my family together.”
